The South African Cricketers’ Association (SACA) today confirmed that its long-serving chief executive, Tony Irish, will step down from the position at the end of December 2019. Irish, who was instrumental in establishing SACA in 2002, has led the players association for the past 17 years.
Irish is also currently the Executive Chairman of the Federation of International Cricketers’ Associations, the global players’ body in cricket, and Non-Executive Vice-President of the World Players Association, the organisation which brings together players and athletes from multiple sports around the world. He was formerly the Non-Executive Chairman of My Players and the South African Rugby Players Association.
Irish will, with effect from January 2020, take up the position of chief executive of the Professional Cricketers Association (PCA), the players’ association representing the professional cricketers of England and Wales.
Over the next four months, and before Irish’s departure, SACA will make the necessary decisions around a chief executive succession plan.
SACA is the players’ union of South Africa’s professional cricketers. It represents 311 current players comprising the Proteas (men and women) teams, the franchise teams and the provincial teams. It is run by the players, for the players and is the collective voice of South Africa’s professional cricketers.

Northern Cape Cricket is very proud to announce it will be hosting the Provincial T20 Competition from 13-15 September 2019 in Kimberley, Northern Cape.
This tournament will include the top players in the country that will come and showcase their talents right here on our doorstep. Come and support our local team play against the top players in each province.
The competition will be tough, with the likes of Eastern Province, Boland, KZN Inland and South Western Districts.
Fixtures: From Friday September 13- Sunday September 15.
Friday
9.30am: Diamond Oval; Boland vs Eastern Province; Country Club B; SWD vs KZN Inland.
1.30pm: Diamond Oval; Eastern Province vs KZN Inland; Country Club B; Northern Cape vs Boland.
Saturday:
9.30am: Diamond Oval; Northern Cape vs KZN Inland; Country Club B; Eastern Province vs SWD.
1.30pm: Diamond Oval; Northern Cape vs SWD; country Club B; KZN Inland vs Boland.
Sunday:
9.30am: Diamond Oval; Boland vs SWD;
1pm: Diamond Oval; Northern Cape vs Eastern Province
Double Wicket Competition
A Brian Williams cricket double wicket competition, with Father and son; Uncle /nephew or family friend/ child teams combinations will take place on September 21 and 22 at the Country Club B Field.
The tournament will be divided into Juniors(under 13) and Seniors(high schools). Eg; if the son is in primary school, then father and son play in the U-13, or if the son is in high school then they play in the Seniors and the same applies to the other two combinations
Entry fee is R400 per team
